5. EMCExplorer
data analysis on site
With EMCExplorer, you can analyze the data by carrying
out the following steps:
1. Mark the test point positions and the
test data file names on EUT layout images with EMCExplorer
Workspace, while acquiring data with a DSO from EUT.
2. Load the acquired data by Workspace into
EMCExplorer. Analyze EMI distribution of acquired data under a
specialized frequency, that will unveil EMI location on EUT layout.
Analyze EMI location on time-frequency domain, that will unveil
which component generates EMI. The analyzed data can also be easily traced back to its test
point position on Workspace, reflecting its physical location on
EUT.
3. Modify the Target Pattern according to the step
2 analysis results. Retest the Target Pattern together with the
Golden pattern and run EMCExplorer again. Analyze both test
results by EMCExplorer and compare the analysis results to see if
the EMI in the Target Pattern is reduced comparing with the EMI in
the Golden Pattern. Repeat the above process until the EMI in the Target
Pattern is reduced enough to make the Target Pattern meet the EMC
requirement.
